Under Dr. Matthews’ leadership, IAAM has become a champion of authentic, empathetic storytelling of African American history and thus is one of the nation’s newest platforms for the disruption of institutionalized racism as America continues the walk toward “a more perfect union.”

Having served multiple terms on CCAA's Board of Directors, he played a key role in the state's largest airport achieving a decade of record-setting growth in air service development, passenger volume, and financial performance. He possesses a keen understanding of the industry at a macro level as well as CCAA's unique history, current operating environment, and strategic outlook.

As the Director of Property Management, Elisa wears many hats. She is directly involved in system growth strategies, which includes the acquisition of new property, as well as the development and construction of all new physician offices. She also oversees the leasing and management of over a million square feet space and handles all property insurance for the healthcare system. She has over 30 years of experience in commercial property management. She began her career working with the third-party healthcare developer developing medical office buildings for Roper St. Francis. After a short stint in retail as the General Manager of Freshfields Village, she was offered the opportunity to return to healthcare. She will be discussing the decision to relocate Roper Hospital from downtown Charleston as well as other exciting growth initiatives.
